February is the fantastic month that people love to come to Punta Mita and all the fishermen that love to fish here. Not only we have some of the friendliest people, romantic beaches, and incredible restaurants Punta Mita boasts one of the top places to fish in February. Fishing in Punta Mita can’t beat this month.
Why is it so nice in Punta Mita in February? Fantastic fishing and some of the nicest people in the world. The inshore fishing has been in high gear with all kinds of pelagic fish being caught. Some of the good eating fish are California Bonita, Spanish mackerel, and the tough fighting mahi-mahi.
The fishing techniques have ranged from slow live bait troll to deep diving rapalas and cut bait. All three have kept the rods bent. It just depends on what the fish were looking for on a given day.
The water temperatures have been like a toilet seat. Up and down with most places holding around 73 degrees in the bay. Overall the Punta Mita fishing has been fantastic. Most of our trips have been from four to six hrs. The most popular boat has been the 28 ft super panga and the 40 ft offshore boats. See more about deep sea fishing prices in Punta Mita Mexico.
Offshore fishing has been like a light switch. On and off all month long for January and we can expect the same for February. The major difference is the water temperature is moving up little by little. Each week we get closer to spring fishing. Then the fishing turns on and just doesn’t stop. Everyone enjoys the nonstop action. From inshore to offshore the fishing will be hot.
It’s nice to know you will be seeing hook up all day long while enjoying the perfect weather. What’s wrong with Punta Mita where you can land huge fish and suck down a cold Mexican beer is this 72-degree weather with sunny skies. NOTHING
It’s all good when fishing in Punta Mita during the winter months.
